Wait. Earphone Charging Cases can be controllers too?!? Why didn’t anyone think of that! Instead of having touch sensitive earphones (with all their single-tap/double-tap commands that are heckin’ difficult to remember) just put controls on the case, right? While great thinkers like Dieter Rams and George Nelson offered their own design principles in past eras, industrial designer Yves Béhar points out that there are no comparable manifestos or guidelines for designers working with AI, robotics, and connected technology today.

Winners of 4th Cradle to Cradle Product Design Challenge

The Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute has announced the winners of the 4th Cradle to Cradle Product Design Challenge. 

162 designers across 19 countries submitted work to the fourth challenge, which encouraged the design community to envision solutions for the circular economy, powered by Cradle to Cradle product design principles. The winning entries include a prescription medication bottle, pocket knife, luggage and a solar-powered aluminum casting process.
