2017 Core77 Design Awards

Submissions are now open for the 2017 Core77 Design Awards. Core77 invites designers from all over the world to put their best work forward for the seventh edition of the competition.

Recognizing excellence in all areas of design enterprise, the Awards celebrates the richness of the design profession and its practitioners. Offering 14 categories of entry, the competition provides designers and researchers a unique opportunity to communicate the intent, rigor and passion behind their efforts.

National High School Design Competition: Good for All

Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum has today launched its second nationwide competition for high school students. Organized in collaboration with Target, "National High School Design Competition: Good for All" invites students to submit design ideas that improve access to healthy, fresh foods for a community that lacks it.

Wait. Earphone Charging Cases can be controllers too?!? Why didn’t anyone think of that! Instead of having touch sensitive earphones (with all their single-tap/double-tap commands that are heckin’ difficult to remember) just put controls on the case, right? The AK G-12 does precisely that. The charging case also acts as a controller (with a dedicated volume dial), a screen (that displays what song you’re playing), and even comes with microSD card support (allowing you to play all your music directly out of your charging case!). Bluetooth earphones ultimately rely on the mobile phone for music storage and playback, but the AK G-12 allows you to put the music IN your earphones, making it truly revolutionary.

Winners of 4th Cradle to Cradle Product Design Challenge

The Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute has announced the winners of the 4th Cradle to Cradle Product Design Challenge. 

162 designers across 19 countries submitted work to the fourth challenge, which encouraged the design community to envision solutions for the circular economy, powered by Cradle to Cradle product design principles. The winning entries include a prescription medication bottle, pocket knife, luggage and a solar-powered aluminum casting process.

Best Bottle EVER

This might just by my favorite water bottle design EVER! Named “BU”, it stylishly marries natural components like charcoal filtration and bamboo with glass-like plastic to encourage reuse.

Desain Produk 3 Nyandalo Footwear (Desain Sandal Tradisional Batak)

Nyandalo designed by taking the elements of Batak culture. Red, black and white to primary colors in these sandals. the concept of purple on the upper of the sandal that looks like a backwards circular is the inspiration from Ulos. Where Ulos  often used in traditional ceremonies and other Batak events. Ulos is one of the cultural values of Batak in Indonesia.

Desain Prdouk 2 (Ja-Run Rocking Horse)

This is one of my awesome  project in the design of the Product Design 2. Ja-Run designed with wooden materials that are not harmful to children, so it is safe to use during play. Ja-Run has the meaning of a “horse” that is expected to know the character of  horse and make the  imaginations and minds child's develops. Red color on Ja-Run taken to attract the attention of the child so wanted to continue to ride.
